About this service
Who we are and what we do

Who We Are
Veteran Family Advocates is a privately operated informational service created for surviving spouses of U.S. veterans. We believe that navigating life after loss should not be made harder by confusing information or aggressive sales tactics.
Our platform serves two clearly separated purposes. First, we provide a free educational resource center that links to official government information about VA survivor benefits. Second, for those who are interested, we offer a way to request a conversation with a licensed independent insurance agency about privately issued life insurance.
What We Are Not
Veteran Family Advocates is not a government website, Veterans Service Organization, law firm, VA-accredited claims service, or insurance carrier. We are a private commercial website.
- We are not affiliated with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
- We are not affiliated with the Department of Defense or any branch of the U.S. military.
- We do not provide legal advice.
- We do not help prepare, present, file, or prosecute VA benefit claims.
- We do not determine your eligibility for VA benefits.
- Private life insurance is separate from VA survivor benefits.
Our Commitment to Transparency
Before you share any contact information for insurance purposes, we show you the exact name, license, and contact information of the single agency that would receive your information. You decide what types of communication you consent to. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
Veteran Family Advocates is an independent, for-profit educational and insurance referral service. We are not a nonprofit organization and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Defense, or any government agency. We do not prepare, file, or determine eligibility for VA benefit claims. Official VA benefit information and assistance from accredited representatives may be available at no cost.
